Later, when he tries to dissect how completely and quickly that Marius undoes him, Rat will wonder if it's the novelty of a new body or the way he naturally would be, had he been born in this shape.

In the moment, though, all he can think is that he's hyper aware of the cool air from the hotel vents, of the contrast it makes to the heat that he produces and draws from Marius.
