Marius doesn't miss the eyeroll Violet sneaks in after she helps Courfeyrac mount his horse. Clearly, Courfeyrac's usual flattery will not win this woman over so easily. And he can't help but feel just a bit of envy for the way Courfeyrac's horse remains so still, even as Courfeyrac nearly makes a fool of himself on it.

"Well then, monsieurs," Violet addresses them with a teasing arch of her eyebrow before gracefully mounting her own ride. "Are we ready to ride then?"
